Campground Rules

1. Usage. Use of the Smokiam Campground is on a “first come first served” basis. This does not preclude the establishment of a reservation system.

2. Registration. Campers must register and pay within 30 minutes of parking in the Campground at the pay station located between the campground restrooms.

3. Maximum Stay. Campers shall be limited to a maximum consecutive stay of twenty-eight (28) days. Campers may return to the Campground after a minimum absence of three (3) days but shall not exceed a maximum stay of forty (40) days in a sixty (60) day period. Exceptions may be granted by the Mayor provided no camper shall occupy a camp site longer than twenty-eight (28) days.

4. RV Site Relocation. Exchanging RV spaces is not permitted. To move to a new location, the RV camper must pay for the new space and no refunds shall be given for the prior space.

5. Camp Sites. Camping outside of the designated camp sites is prohibited. A maximum of 8 people Are allowed per camp site.

6. Checkout Time. Checkout time is 12:00pm Noon. Failure to vacate a space shall result in a late checkout penalty equal to an additional day fee.

7. Secondary Vehicles. All secondary vehicles must pay the daily rate. Unauthorized vehicles are subject to tow.

8. Noise. General quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Engine generators are limited to operation between the hours of 8:00 am and 9:00 pm during the summer recreation season between April and October. Yelling, shouting, sounding of horns or sirens, or playing audio equipment or musical instruments loud enough to be heard outside the camp site or picnic area is prohibited.

9. Recreational Fires. No campfires are allowed. Charcoal or propane barbeques and raised or enclosed fire pits are allowed within camp sites.

10. Pets. Pets are required to be kept on a leash at all times of such length as is sufficiently short to allow for the containment and control of such dog. Pet owners are responsible for disposing of all pet waste in appropriate trash receptacles. Pets shall not be left unattended in the Campground.

11. Alcohol. Possession or consumption of alcohol is restricted to designated campsites and in accordance with state law.

12. Fireworks. Possession and use of fireworks is prohibited within the Campground.

13. Restrooms. An outside shower is provided for washing off Soap Lake Mud. Use of indoor showers to wash off Soap Lake Mud is prohibited. Campers shall not use campground restrooms while closed for cleaning or maintenance.

14. RV Waste. Disposal of RV waste water is prohibited within the Campground. A dump station is located outside the Campground in the City Park near the restrooms by the highway.

15. Speed Limit. The maximum speed limit within the Campground is 5 mph for all vehicles.

16. Prohibited Vehicles. Operation of Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles, motor scooters, and other off-highway vehicles is prohibited within the Campground.

17. Garbage. Use of campground garbage cans is limited to patrons of the Campground. Littering is prohibited.

18. Campground Facilities. Climbing on any structures within the Campground is prohibited, including but not limited to the restrooms, bathhouses, or gazebo. Moving picnic tables is prohibited.

19. Fire Lane. Parking in or obstructing the fire lane is prohibited.

20. Minors. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian outside designated camp sites between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.

21. Conduct. Campers shall not interfere with the lawful use and quiet enjoyment of the Campground or swimming area by others. Campers shall not throw rocks or other objects within the Campground.

Violation of these rules or federal, state, or local law shall be grounds for ejectment from the Campground without refund.
