UTILITY RATE INFORMATION SHEET
The Soap Lake Public Utility Committee continues to work on a proposal for 2024 sewer, water, and solid waste rates and plans to present recommendations at the April 3rd city council meeting.
The committee anticipates proposing increases to water and sewer rates to cover a $300,000 deficit that needs to be corrected this year.
Gray and Osborne, the cities engineering consultant, reports that the city has water towers that need attention; a well that needs replacing; the sewer treatment plant is in need of repair; and wastewater lift stations need replacement. Additionally, reserve funding is needed to pay for matching funds on grant projects.
